Description
The study sought to investigate the implementation of e-learning in schools
and was a case study of Harare Northern Central District from 2015 to 2017. The
research objectives were to determine the benefits of e-learning, identify the
challenges hindering the implementation of e-learning in the schools, determine
strategies which can be used to implement e-learning and identify any
recommendations which can be used in the implementation of e-learning. The
researchers used qualitative research methodology and used interviews and
questionnaires as data collection methods. The study revealed that e-leaning was
being used mostly in schools and government was working hard to support the
school’s initiatives towards the implementation. It was recommended that colleges
and universities should train more teachers in ICTs for the school system. Schools
should source funds so that they engage ICT software programmers for e-learning.
Parents should also support their children so that they understand the importance of e-
learning. The Government should engage the private sector and mobilize funds to
modernize education in Zimbabwe
