                <text>The purpose of this review paper was to analyse literature related to cyber-security governance&#13;
frameworks effects in Zimbabwe local authorities. Cyber-security governance is a developing&#13;
subject with an expanding literature. It is founded in information technology governance but is&#13;
also increasing its recognition in business management. However, there is dearth of literature&#13;
on the effectiveness of cyber-security governance framework in Zimbabwe local authorities.&#13;
The authors reviewed journal papers, conference papers, theses and books from various&#13;
databases namely Google Scholar and ProQuest. The study showed that cyber-security&#13;
governance enables the formulation of a cyber-security governance framework which has a&#13;
great impact on the performance of local authorities in Zimbabwe. In addition, a cyber-security&#13;
governance framework improves organisation’s decision making, risk governance and&#13;
compliance. Conversely, a cyber-security governance framework is inflexible and overly&#13;
systematic. The paper also contributed to the body of knowledge in the fields of cyber-security&#13;
governance as well as other related studies thereby supporting literature brought forward by&#13;
other researchers</text>

                <text>The study investigated the opportunities and challenges associated with data-driven urban governance in Zimbabwean cities, focusing on Harare, Bulawayo and Mutare. It employed a qualitative, descriptive research design, drawing on document analysis and semi-structured interviews with municipal officials, urban planners and ICT officers. Guided by the theoretical lens of Technological Determinism, the research identified significant opportunities for improving urban governance through real-time data, predictive analytics, digital citizen engagement and smart city initiatives. However, it also revealed major constraints, including infrastructural deficits, the digital divide, outdated planning frameworks, fragmented data governance and low levels of digital literacy. The study concluded that, while data technologies held transformative potential, their effective implementation in Zimbabwe required strengthened institutional capacity, ethical data governance and inclusive digital development strategies. Without addressing these foundational issues, data-driven urban governance risked reinforcing existing structural inequities rather than resolving them.</text>

                <text>This study reflects on Steve de Gruchy’s holistic model of theology and development (T&amp;D),&#13;
emphasising his commitment to justice, human dignity and social transformation in the&#13;
context of post-apartheid South Africa. De Gruchy was a notable South African theologian&#13;
whose scholarship significantly influenced development theory, public theology and social&#13;
ethics. This article is presented in response to the commemoration of 50 years of scholarship at&#13;
the Research Institute of Theology and Religion at the University of South Africa, and the&#13;
question is: How does De Gruchy’s holistic model of T&amp;D inform our understanding of socio-&#13;
ecological, political and economic challenges in South Africa, and what implications does it&#13;
have for development practices both locally and globally? This study employs an&#13;
interdisciplinary approach, integrating theological analysis with development theory, drawing&#13;
from De Gruchy’s works and contextual examples. It examines the historical injustices in&#13;
South Africa, critiques neoliberal economic paradigms and emphasises participatory&#13;
frameworks for social change. Findings reveal that De Gruchy advocates for T&amp;D that&#13;
transcends economic metrics, highlighting ecological, social and spiritual dimensions. His&#13;
emphasis on integrated approaches, such as the Sustainable Livelihoods Framework, illustrates&#13;
the necessity of empowering marginalised communities. The role of faith communities&#13;
as catalysts for social change underscores the potential for constructive engagement between&#13;
secular and religious sectors. This study is significant as it reiterates the relevance of De&#13;
Gruchy’s insights in addressing ongoing development challenges, advocating for a&#13;
reconceptualisation of T&amp;D that intertwines theory and praxis, promoting collaborative&#13;
solutions in the African context and beyond</text>

                <text>This article that made use of the utilitarian framework of analysis, focused on Ignatius Chombo,&#13;
a former Zimbabwean Minister of Local Government, who issued an order granting debt&#13;
amnesty to residents of the 92 local government councils in the nation from 2009 to 2013. The&#13;
utilitarian concept of municipal government, developed by John Stuart Mill, places a strong&#13;
emphasis on maximising the well-being or overall pleasure of the greatest number of people&#13;
when making decisions. The article probed the Minister's choice by using a utilitarian&#13;
framework of analysis and a documentary research methodology. Whilst it found that the&#13;
decision curried favour with certain segments of the population, especially the indigent who&#13;
were struggling to settle their bills for service delivery, it also found it repugnant, among others,&#13;
for the reason that it ingrained a culture of non-payment for local government services&#13;
consumed by residents that subsists up to now. It also found that, despite the fact that the policy&#13;
was created a little more than ten years ago, the full consequence of the minister's decision has&#13;
not yet been fully absorbed.</text>

                <text>Performance of secondary school students has been declining since 1984 to date.&#13;
Although much has been done to improve conditions of teachers the Ordinary level&#13;
ZIMSEC examinations appear to be declining. Factors contributing to the&#13;
teachers‟effectiveness have not been well researched. Whereas teachers could be&#13;
motivated by employers, what contributes to their affective commitment to the&#13;
organisations in which they work is not known. The primary aim of the study was to&#13;
make a critical analysis of variables contributing to affective organisational&#13;
commitment of teachers. Stufflebeam‟s (1971) Context Input Process and Product&#13;
Model informed the study. A mixed methods methodology approach was used. The&#13;
study used statistical tests such as multiple regression alysis and step wise regression&#13;
analysis on quantitative survey data. The quantitative data were gathered using two&#13;
seven point Likert scales from 230 teachers, proportionately, stratified and systematic&#13;
randomly sampled from 2340 teachers. SPSS was used to analyse the relationship&#13;
between school performance and teachers‟ organisational commitment. Linear multiple&#13;
step wise regression analyses were performed in order to find out the significance of the&#13;
variables. The qualitative data were collected from purposively sampled 12 teachers, 2&#13;
heads of departments, 2 deputy heads, 4 school heads, 5 education inspectors and 1&#13;
Deputy Provincial Education Director. Semi-structured interviews and focus group&#13;
discussion were used in order to to generate data which were analysed using NVivo.&#13;
The study established factors such as biographical, organisational the community&#13;
policies and teacher efficacy as strong determinants of affective organisational&#13;
commitment. One of the significant outcomes of the study was an informed&#13;
conceptualised BLOTPAS affective organisational commitment model that illustrates&#13;
the relationship between the factors and teachers, as well as students and schools‟&#13;

                <text>Board diversity is a topical discourse in firm governance and&#13;
management. Diversity came up as a way of eliminating&#13;
discrimination in employment and making sure there is equality,&#13;
inclusion and affirmative action in the way firms do business. Board&#13;
diversity has produced mixed results in relation to firm performance.&#13;
On the one hand, diversity enables good governance to take place,&#13;
ensures satisfaction of stakeholders and the firm to attain&#13;
competitive advantage. Contrary, diversity may come with&#13;
difficulties in communication, boardroom fights and decreased&#13;
productivity among a plethora of negative contributions. The study&#13;
investigates the various factors that affect board diversity from a&#13;
Zimbabwean context.&#13;
The Zimbabwe Stock Exchange’s 35 firms’ data is analysed to&#13;
estimate the relationship between board diversity and firm&#13;
performance. The study employed the quantitative methodology to&#13;
establish factors that influence board diversity on firm performance&#13;
of thirty-five (35) firms listed on the Zimbabwe Stock Exchange&#13;
using panel data collected over the period 2009 – 2015.&#13;
The major factors that promote diversity are firm size, liquidity,&#13;
leverage, operating experience (years listed), market share (Tobin’s&#13;
Q) and being in the service sector. On the other hand, board size,&#13;
being in the food, financial, real and industrial and manufacturing&#13;
sectors negatively and significantly influence diversity.&#13;
Based on the above results, the study recommends that companies&#13;
should come up with diversity-enabling policies to enhance firm&#13;
performance.</text>

                <text>This study set out to investigate determinants of financial inclusion among female flea market&#13;
owners in selected suburbs in Harare, Zimbabwe. The study employed the mixed method research&#13;
approach, in which the quantitative paradigm was dominant. This approach allowed for a systemic&#13;
integration of quantitative and qualitative data. Questionnaires were administered to 630 randomly&#13;
selected participants. The determinants of financial inclusion which are access, quality, usage and&#13;
welfare were measured using paired sample T-test, Chi-square and Logistic regression. The&#13;
reduced logistic regression model was statistically significant p=0.003&lt;0.05. The model explained&#13;
12.9 percent (Nagelkerke R Square) of the variation in active account holders and correctly&#13;
classified 63.5 percent of cases. Respondents who are aware of Savings Account are 2.881 times&#13;
more likely to have an active account while those aware of Debit Card are 1.712 times likely to&#13;
have an active account. Thus from the model it can be deduced that awareness of bank products&#13;
significantly determines one’s ability to own an active account. The recommendations from this&#13;
study are directed to policy makers in the financial services sector. Access to mobile accounts from&#13;
Zimbabwe mobile phone networks has now become a very easy process. The financial services&#13;
sector can derive benefits by creating strategic alliances with mobile phone service providers in&#13;
order to introduce a robust product offering that rides on mobile money wallets. Partnerships can&#13;
be created between the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe (RBZ), mobile phone service providers and an&#13;
international payment card provider in order to expand digital payments. This payment&#13;
interoperability will not only ensure digital financial inclusion but will also be a strategy for&#13;
harnessing diaspora remittances. Future research should be conducted to determine the impact of&#13;
transaction taxes and the general cost of mobile transaction fees to financial inclusion.</text>

                <text>The study investigated how innovative financial resource mobilisation projects/programmes&#13;
improved the financial sustainability of Zimbabwe's public universities. Correlation and survey&#13;
research designs guided by positivist research theory were utilised. The unit of analysis was&#13;
limited to six public universities in Zimbabwe. Two hundred and twenty-nine respondents were&#13;
randomly chosen out of 1 450 employees in the separate revenue-generating units to participate&#13;
in the Rensis Likert scale questionnaire survey. Quantitative data were validated using tests for&#13;
normality, kurtosis and skewness, homoscedasticity, multicollinearity, and prior power of the&#13;
entire study model. The test findings were within acceptable limits. The multiple linear&#13;
regression model results revealed that organisational structure, cost management, financial&#13;
administration, institutional support, and own income generation all had positive coefficients,&#13;
indicating a positive relationship with financial sustainability. A negative relationship was&#13;
found between strategic planning and financial sustainability, implying that the more strategic&#13;
planning procedures implemented, the worse the financial sustainability. The alternate&#13;
hypothesis: Innovative financial resource mobilisation having no substantial effect on the&#13;
financial sustainability of Zimbabwe's public universities, was accepted. It was concluded that&#13;
the innovative financial resource mobilisation improved the financial sustainability of&#13;
Zimbabwe's public universities.</text>

microbial sinigrin glucosinolates in tomato leaves after&#13;
spraying them with moringa (Moringa oleifera) leaf extract&#13;
(MLAE). Moringa concentrates (0.5, 0.75, 1.00 and 1.5 kg L�1&#13;

)) were prepared. Distilled water was the control.&#13;
Sampled tomato leaves were air-dried, freeze-dried and&#13;
extracted firstly using pure methanol in a hot water bath&#13;
and then pellet re-extracted using 5 mL of hot aqueous&#13;
methanol (70% v v�1 ). An ion exchange column, and sul-&#13;
phatase was used to achieve glucosiodesulphonation. High&#13;
performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) was employed&#13;
in the identification and quantitative analysis of the sinigrin&#13;
glucosinolates. Tomato (Solanum lycopersicum) leaves&#13;
treated with MLAE revealed highly significant (p &lt; .001) con-&#13;
tent of sinigrin glucosinolates. The sinigrin standard and the&#13;
desulphated sinigrin glucosinolates had a 7 s retention time&#13;
difference; 5 kg L�1 (w v�1&#13;
) resulted in a superior amount of&#13;
sinigrin in tomato leaves as compared to all the other MLAE&#13;
concentrations. The study reveals that spraying MLAE on&#13;
putatively diseased tomato leaves donates specific quantifi-&#13;
able glucosinolates like sinigrin, which may be involved in&#13;
defense against tomato diseases and, hence, recommends&#13;
use of 5 kg L�1 (w v�1&#13;

                <text>This study focused on the digitisation of records and archives at two selected state universities in&#13;
Zimbabwe, namely Zimbabwe Open University (ZOU) and Harare Institute of Technology (HIT).&#13;
The specific objective was to evaluate the legal and statutory frameworks for managing the&#13;
digitisation of records and archives at the state universities. The legislative and statutory&#13;
imperatives in Zimbabwe, the exponential growth in digitised records and archiving in the state&#13;
universities and the lack of capacity of records personnel with regard to the management of digital&#13;
records and archives, motivated this study. The records of the state universities are stored on&#13;
network servers that the university can access. However, individual users are often able to copy or&#13;
move them to individual desktops and portable devices that are beyond the university’s control.&#13;
The study adopted a mixed methods convergent parallel research design and collected data through&#13;
questionnaires and interviews. The data collection instruments provided both quantitative and&#13;
qualitative data. Quantitative data were analysed using the SPSS analytical software package,&#13;
while qualitative data were organised into broad themes and the content reported in narrative form.&#13;
The findings were that both respondents and participants understand the records management&#13;
functions in their universities and both state universities are busy creating policies and procedures&#13;
for the digitisation of records and archives in their business transactions. The findings further&#13;
indicated that the two state universities were digitising their records and archives using untrained&#13;
personnel. Legislation, policies, and standards and procedures were not enforced. This exposed&#13;
the materials to major threats and risks in terms of their integrity, security and authenticity. The&#13;
study recommended that there the legal and statutory frameworks must be formulated,&#13;
implemented and enforced to cater for the digitisation of records and archives at state universities&#13;
in Zimbabwe</text>

                <text>The purpose of the research was to determine the strategies and priorities as an academic leader for creating a&#13;
world-class academic university in terms of quality and impact of teaching and learning. The University of the Free State&#13;
(UFS) is faced with the problem of relatively low scholarship throughput. The Xerox Excellence Model represents one of&#13;
the early excellence pioneering models, and the EFQM European Excellence Model is a representative of international&#13;
quality award model that informs customer service excellence. The status of the University of Free State (UFS) is&#13;
analysed qualitatively using a research design based on Discourse Analysis, Laclau and Mouffe‟s discourse theory,&#13;
supported by Document Analysis of the Strategic Plan 2012-2016 and the Integrated Report for 2013. UFS is&#13;
benchmarked against other top world-class universities. The recommended strategies hinge on sustaining momentum on&#13;
excellence, broadening access, investing in Leadership Success, enhancing research capacity and learner support, and&#13;
focus on institutional service excellence. Strategies and priorities identified are to be supported by the evolving future&#13;
e-learning trends (MOOCS, micro-learning, OERs, etc.) and technologies (cloud-based learning, gamification, notification&#13;
systems in LMS, SaaS authoring tools, HTML5, Tin can API, etc.). The global university performance of world-class&#13;
universities are assessed across all of their core missions – teaching (the learning environment), research (volume,&#13;
income and reputation), knowledge transfer (citations), industry income (innovation) and international outlook (staff,&#13;
students and research).</text>

                <text>Building bridges for student teachers is the fountain and link-pin to moulding effective teachers in&#13;
any system of education. This study seeks to highlight challenges faced by student teachers in&#13;
primary and secondary schools in Masvingo Province. The study adopted a post-positivist&#13;
approach rooted in the interpretive philosophy and employed the qualitative research&#13;
methodology. The population for the study were 250 student teachers who had gathered at a&#13;
teaching practice workshop at Masvingo Regional Campus. Convenience sampling technique was&#13;
employed to select information rich participants who were asked to write down narratives on&#13;
challenges they faced during teaching practice. Semi-structured interviews and focus groups were&#13;
employed as data generation tools as well. The major findings of the study were that student&#13;
teachers had several challenges rooted in mentoring, pedagogical, time constraints, implementing&#13;
updated curriculum with the new learning areas, disciplinary issues, lack of textbooks, overloaded&#13;
lasses and teaching periods, supervisor related issues, among others. The study concludes that&#13;
student teachers find it a rocky road to effectively practice in the absence of a supportive&#13;
environment. The study recommends that schools should attach student teachers to competent and&#13;
qualified mentors. Universities and schools should work hand in glove and come up with several&#13;
seminars and workshops for student teachers so that their practice is made rich.&#13;

used by most institutions as a raison d’être. The development of Open and Distance Learning (ODL) institutions in&#13;
the world has largely been done by conventional Universities. Distance educators agree that distance education&#13;
includes both distance learning and teaching. With the advent of changes in industry’s demand for more qualified&#13;
personnel that may need to be trained whilst on the job, conventional universities and colleges have failed to cope.&#13;
The economies of scale of this approach saw many people getting qualifications whilst they were on the job.&#13;
Governments who are the recipients of most of the graduates get concerned when most of their people are not&#13;
educated. This has resulted in the development of the single and dual mode institutions of distance education to a&#13;
large extent with the latter preceding. In this study which was carried out in the beginning of 2013. A qualitative&#13;
research paradigm was used focusing on the graduates of DE from both conventional and ODL institutions. This was&#13;
a phenomenological design because it dwelt on a careful description and analysis of the participants’ life world and&#13;
the meaning extracted thereof. Participants who included graduates, employers and lecturers were conveniently&#13;
selected from the different institutions in Zimbabwe. The sample consisted of ten graduates from eight institutions.&#13;
We used an on line open ended interview schedule, personal accounts and document analysis to collect data. This&#13;
provided us with an opportunity to look at different worldviews of the empowerment phenomenon. The findings&#13;
show mixed reactions from graduates on their empowerment status. Fierce competition is rife between institutions&#13;
raising ethical, business and quality issues. We recommend that policy be put in place to fine tune this DE to&#13;
empower all graduates regardless of their institution</text>

                <text>The adoption of electronic Human Resource (e-HR) records is transforming HR management globally, offering enhanced efficiency, accessibility, and decision-making. However, in Zimbabwe, organisations face significant challenges in data privacy, cybersecurity, and regulatory compliance, hindering the full realisation of e-HR benefits. This study examined the current state of e-HR adoption in Zimbabwe, comparing it to global best practices and identifying critical gaps in technological infrastructure, legal enforcement, and cybersecurity readiness. Using a Systematic Literature Review (SLR), the study applied the Technology- Organisation-Environment (TOE) framework, GDPR principles, and the CIA Triad model to analyse Zimbabwe’s HR digitalisation landscape. Findings revealled uneven adoption rates, with large organisations progressing faster than SMEs, weak regulatory enforcement, and high vulnerability to cyber threats due to limited security investments. The study proposed strategic&#13;
interventions, including strengthening regulatory oversight, enhancing cybersecurity measures, and aligning HR practices with international standards. The findings contributed to the discourse on HR digital transformation in emerging economies, offering policy recommendations to ensure a secure and efficient transition to digital HR records in Zimbabwe.</text>

                <text>One of the best ways to achieve global literacy is through communication, collaborative learning,&#13;
research, and problem solving. Technology helps tremendously in these areas, so it is a great tool&#13;
to use in this process. As e-infrastructures gain ground in many African countries and at the same&#13;
time promises a new way of delivering health, education and agriculture. New technologies&#13;
should be readily acceptable in order to deliver these essential services to the populace.&#13;
However, against a background of previous studies pointing to e-learning as a monster under the&#13;
bed (Chiome, Kurasha and Mupa, 2011) and after 98% of the students failed to voluntarily&#13;
register for an e-learning blended programme, this research set out to find the factors affecting&#13;
user acceptance of e- infrastructures in health, agriculture and education. This was a survey of&#13;
institutions engaged in e-agriculture, e-health and e-learning in Zimbabwe. A purposive sample&#13;
of 65students who were exposed to e-infrastructures was interviewed in order to determine the&#13;
user acceptance variable applicable in Zimbabwe. The study found out that e-infrastructure users&#13;
made rational choices faced with alternatives, belief in the usefulness or lack of it of the system,&#13;
too much effort put into using technology, content richness, e-infrastructure usefulness and&#13;
update regularity of the e-infrastructure are some of the absolutely vital technology acceptance&#13;
variables. The research argues that the ability to navigate the complex life and work&#13;
environments in the globally competitive information age requires e-infrastructure developers to&#13;
pay rigorous attention to technology acceptance to engage e-infrastructure users other than the&#13;
“early adopters” with the opportunities in e-infrastructures.</text>

stage of lactation and nutrition on milk yield and major milk&#13;
components in goats. Different breeds protray different&#13;
lactation curves, this is possibly that their genomes from a&#13;
genetically point of view are different. Crosses of pure breeds&#13;
and local goat genetic resources will improve milk production&#13;
in an extensive traditional system because they will be able to&#13;
deal with low input that characterize the traditional extensive&#13;
farming systems. However, nutrition is a vital component in an&#13;
attempt to maximise milk synthesis in goats, as a result correct&#13;
feed management is desirable through appropriate estimation&#13;
of roughage to concentrate intake in order to optimize the&#13;
utilization of feed supplements. It is suffice to suggest that&#13;
feeding high producing dairy goat may be a major constraint in&#13;
milk production, which implies greater attention to diet&#13;
composition, feed quality, and the physical form of feedstuffs is&#13;
required. The rate and extent to which a dairy goat is capable of&#13;
drawing upon body reserves to meet the energy requirement at&#13;
different stages of lactation is critical in determining her ability&#13;
to produce and sustain a high level of milk production. In order&#13;
to increase goat milk production and to ensure high feed&#13;
efficiency, goat farmers need to pay close attention to the&#13;

in the economic survival of any dairy enterprise. A profitable goat&#13;
dairy enterprise should aim at maximazation of milk output per&#13;
dam or optimizing the overall milk output from the flock. The&#13;
present discussion explores the potential use of milking frequency as&#13;
a management tool available for goat dairy farmers in manipulation&#13;
of milk yield per dam and its implication for mammary functioning&#13;
and its influence in enhancing metabolic activities in milk secrection.&#13;
The influence of lactation length on yield and milk composition is&#13;
also discussed. Lactation length and milking frequency are some of&#13;
factors which have been implicated in influencing yield and milk&#13;
composition. Different milking frequencies in different management&#13;
systems have been studied with different results observed in their&#13;
influences on yield and milk composition. There are different&#13;
adaptive responses of the mammary gland of different animal&#13;
species to extended milking frequencies and lactation length in&#13;
different systems of management. The lactation length records can&#13;
facilitate the allocation of resources such as feed supplies both for&#13;
individual doe and the flock. From the discussion milking frequency&#13;
and lactation length account for some of the variation in milk yield&#13;
and composition, therefore adjustment of dairy records for lactation&#13;
length is essential for accurate selection of dairy animals in a flock.&#13;
The feature of once daily milking is that it reduces milk yield,&#13;
depending on stage of lactation, breed and parity. However, with the&#13;
labour costs being recognized as one of the highest contributors to a&#13;
dairy enterprise daily expense, it is suffice to suggest that the cost&#13;
implications related to once daily milking can not be ignored. In goats&#13;
milked twice daily, but increasing milking frequency to three times a&#13;
day or even more often increase goat milk yield</text>

                <text>The transition from a traditional face-to-face learning mode to Open, Distance and Electronic&#13;
Learning (ODeL) has become increasingly relevant in the context of Zimbabwe’s educational&#13;
landscape, particularly for sectors requiring specialised training such as the Zimbabwe Prisons&#13;
and Correctional Services (ZPCS). The study focused on the effectiveness of the transition&#13;
from blended learning to full adoption of ODeL in delivering short courses in entrepreneurial&#13;
leadership to the top officials of the ZPCS. The study employed a qualitative paradigm using&#13;
interviews to generate data by assessing participants’ experiences, learning outcomes, and&#13;
overall satisfaction with the transition phase from face-to-face delivery, then blended learning&#13;
to full ODeL. Major findings were the flexibility of ODeL, the need for technological support,&#13;
low effect on learning experience and low engagement levels. While ODeL increased&#13;
accessibility to educational resources and scheduling convenience, the study highlights critical&#13;
challenges that impede optimal learning outcomes such as inadequate infrastructure,&#13;
inconsistent internet access as well as varying levels of digital literacy among participants,&#13;
which collectively hinder their ability to fully engage with the course learning material.&#13;
Recommendations include the need to have tailored support systems to ensure sustainable&#13;
educational practices.</text>

                <text>The study aimed to determine whether Performance Management Systems (PMS) are effective in improving employees' performance or not. The paper also addresses policies and procedures used when implementing PMS and whether recommendations should be made to improve what isn't working well and maintain what is in to provide the best system execution in Zimbabwe's Small to Medium Enterprise (SME) sector. The objectives of the study were to determine how well PMS works to enhance the performance of the employees and to determine the protocols and guidelines utilised in the implementation of PMS. Theoretical literature review looked at the Theory of Expectancy, the Goal setting theory, the Theories of staff productivity and performance management systems, the effect of performance reviews on workers' output and how employee productivity is affected by performance training and development. Reviews of the theoretical and empirical literature were conducted to answer research questions. The study employed systematic review of literature. It was discovered that the Small to Medium Enterprises sector is using PMS and that the yearly performance reports were being prepared on time. The themes that were found from the study were improved and increased teamwork and communication, increased fairness, transparency and better hiring decisions, provision of detailed, qualitative feedback and increased motivation and protection of employees from potential bias. It can be inferred that the SME sector should continue to employ the assessment system. The study recommended that additional research be conducted to empirically assess the effect of performance management system on employee performance in specific context.</text>
